EuroBrit is a turning event which changes location every year. Any European hobby can bid to organise it. If more than 1 bid is issued, a college made of the past organisers and winners and a fair representation of the country present will access the different bids and retain the next location. The Norwegian Hobby has already expressed the intention to host the third edition of EuroBrit in Arcon, Oslo, in 2002. Tracks for EuroBrit IV include Namur, Belgium, Cöpenhagen, Denmark and Göteborg, Sweden.
The first edition took place in Modena, Italy, seeing a double attendance of Italian and French players. The final opposed 2 players of each country, and was won by François SOMMAIRE of France. François will also be the organiser of the second edition. Since players attending the event use either GG or AH rules, it will use the WEBC Rules estimated as the best approach available of a merge between the 2 different sets of rules. The choice of the system is left to the organiser, even though there seem to be a consensus on a "qualification" + "play-off" formula.
The second edition joined forces with the World Championship of Diplomacy in Paris. Not many french could come due to it being in the middle of the summer vacations, but the number of foreigners was in neat progress with more than 10 for 9 different nationalities. Third edition will show if this trend (international traveling) will continue. the final show a very close and interesting game with a triple rushed in the end won by (as is often the case in those occasions) Blue and Stephane LANTOINE. But anders EGNEUS with Purple and Hervé SICART who had made an excellent come-back with Green were really very close to the title.
