Team Cup

Another core event of the French Hobby, this competition traditionnaly open the new season of Britannia. Held during Autumn, on one day and one game, the principle is each team is formed of 4 players, each being pre-asigned a color. The result of a Team is the sum of the points of all of its players, using the same scoring system as the Defi (ranking bonus * number of points / average of the color, with ranking bonus = 500 for 1st, 250 for 2nd, 150 for 3rd and 100 for 4th, bonus being average in case of tied position).

It is very noticable that 3 players belonged to each of the 4 Team which win the 4 first editions. Needless telling those players (Renaud PRAS, Hervé SICART and Christophe DUBOIS) and their new Team will be expected during next edition, and now belong to the legend of the French Defi. The Vth edition will show a net growth of the number of Team attending, and will for the first time be national (even international) with players not only from Paris but also a Team coming from Lyon, another from Nancy and a third mixed between Belgium and Swiss players. The competition will be fierce for Hervé, Christophe and Renaud with also the Team which won first edition of WEBC (and had finished second last year in the IVth Team Cup), and a Team which will include the 2 winners of EuroBrit I & II and the winner of the Defi 2001. It appears to be more open than ever.
